Accounts Senior

Accounts Senior sought to join our experienced team in a growing two partner firm of Chartered Accountants based in Dorking, Surrey.

A varied client base across different industries, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas of this general practice, including accounts preparation (mainly for SMEs), corporate tax, personal taxation and some audit work. Ideally ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.

Role and duties

  • Accounts preparation and tax

  • Supervision of own portfolio

  • Direct client contact encouraged

  • Exposure to all aspects of client work

  • Wide variety of clients and work so opportunity to gain broad experience

  • Supervision of workflow processes

  • Opportunity to assist with training and supervision of apprentice/trainees

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

  • A minimum of 3 years accountancy practice experience

  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work in ‘less paper’ environment

  • Experience in cloud based bookkeeping systems – Quickbooks, Xero, Sage

  • IRIS or Tax Calc experience preferred but not essential.

  • Living within a commutable distance to Dorking, Surrey

Remuneration & Benefits

  • £32-42k depending on experience

  • 20 days holiday in your first year rising to 25 days in the second year plus bank holidays

  • Normal working hours are 9:00-5:30 Monday to Friday but we operate around core hours of 8:00-6:00. We are happy to talk flexible working. Our team operate with a combination of working in the office and at home. Full time hours are preferred but we will consider applications for part time and school hours.
